In 2017, the SCMTS Trail Crew and the City of Santa Cruz’s Summer Youth Trail Crew completed the Ohlone Trail reroute. The original trail followed a steep, fall-line alignment that was prone to erosion and unenjoyable for hikers. The rerouted trail bypasses the steep fall line and provides a much-improved hiking experience through beautiful oak and redwood forest.
