Bash on the Bluffs Member Appreciation Party Recap

We’re pleased to announce our first public member appreciation party that took place Saturday February 21st at the Seymour Marine Discovery Center was a great success. Bash on the Bluffs drew close to 250 attendees with 67 new memberships and renewals.

The evening began with drinks while guests mingled, placed silent auction bids, and enjoyed exploring tanks of sea jellies, sea anemones, and other Monterey Bay aquatic wonders. Later guests enjoyed a delicious Mexican dinner catered by Cornejos Catering while MBoSC president, Mark Davidson, gave out volunteer appreciation awards. Juli Furtado, founder of Juliana Bicycles, member of both the Mountain Bike Hall of Fame and the U.S. Bicycling Hall of Fame, and honorary International Mountain Bicycling Association board member, shared a few words on the importance of community involvement to preserve mountain biking in Santa Cruz and thanked MBoSC members and volunteers for their dedication to trail work. The evening ended with a member raffle and giveaways.

“I am very happy with the results. The main goal of this party was twofold; appreciate our members, volunteers, and donors and gain new supporters through a membership drive and we accomplished this with great success,” says Mark Davidson, president of MBoSC.

We are grateful to our fantastic local sponsors who donated highly prized silent auction items and member raffle prizes. Their continued support and presence in Santa Cruz County is key to preserving mountain biking in our community.

And thank you to our volunteers who made this successful event. MBoSC is a 100% volunteer non-profit mountain bike advocacy organization that benefits from the great work and dedication from volunteers passionate about mountain biking. MBoSC proceeds will aid future and current bike projects. To learn more about the effort and projects lead by MBoSC, click here.

Summit Store gave a deep discount on lunch as usual, while Ninkasi Brewing rewarded trail builders with well-earned cold beverages at the end of the day.
