Are you passionate about mountain biking here in Santa Cruz County? Do you want to be sure that we as mountain bikers take full advantage of opportunities to create more riding options in our community? Well now is the time to step forward. Mountain Bikers of Santa Cruz is recruiting new leadership.

MBoSC’s role within the community has grown exponentially in recent years, and our club needs to grow proportionally. We have built two amazing trails, the Emma McCrary Trail in Pogonip, and the Flow Trail at Soquel Demonstration State Forest. We have put on several ongoing events with great success, The Santa Cruz Mountain Bike Festival and The Santa Cruz Super Enduro. But this is no time to rest on our laurels. With so many amazing opportunities coming down the pipes, trail development at Coast Dairies and San Vicente Redwoods, a trail reroute in Wilder Ranch State Park, several new pump tracks, a new bike park, and so many others, we need to grow and strengthen our organization to maintain the momentum we have achieved. New energy, ideas, and motivation will help us to capitalize on the momentum we have built.

Board Elections
MBoSC will be holding elections in late June for positions on our board of directors. The new board of directors will be tasked with leading and strengthening the club’s programs through the development of a strategic plan for the club, hiring an executive directors, and developing a volunteer staff recruitment plan.

Serving on MBoSC’s board of directors is an amazing opportunity to get involved in your community. Santa Cruz’s star as a mountain bike mecca is on the rise. You can be a part of shaping how the future of mountain biking takes form here in our home.

More information on the various positions that make up the board of directors and their associated responsibilities is available here.

If you are interested in running for a position on the board of directors, please fill out our online form.

Candidates will be requested to give a statement at our monthly meeting at 7:00 on June 15 at Harvey West Park (note new meeting location), those who cannot be present can submit a written statement.

The current board of directors will elect the new board from the pool of candidates at their next meeting in late June.
