Welcome to Mountain Biking in Santa Cruz County

1978494_10152049499323564_631459955_oMountain Bikers of Santa Cruz (MBoSC) is a non-profit mountain bike advocacy organization and a chapter of  the International Mountain Bike Association (IMBA). MBoSC works to promote mountain bike recreation and to expand sustainable trail access in the Santa Cruz area.

MBoSC enriches the local mountain bike community through trail building, our  annual mountain bike festival and enduro race, group rides, social events, and cooperation with local land managers and other trail user groups. These activities are driven by our volunteer staff and our members.

Get involved with our current project, the Demo Flow Trail —featured in the April/May 2014 issue of Adventure Sports Journal! — a 4 mile feature-laden purpose-built trail that swoops through the beautiful Soquel Demonstration State Forest. This progressive trail is designed for all rider abilities from beginner to pro and is an excellent example of how local mountain biking enthusiasts and land managers can work together to build new trails in a sustainable way. Learn more about this highly anticipated trail and how you can help here.

Join MBoSC/IMBA to be a part of bringing mountain biking into the mainstream of Santa Cruz living. Volunteer, sponsor or donate — we appreciate your support!

Additional backcountry panel installed at Wilder

It’s great to provide funds for improvements to the local state parks that we all enjoy.

Another backcountry panel was recently installed at the intersection of Woodcutters and Chinquapin trails at Wilder Ranch State Park.

MBoSC donated $2,250 on behalf of the mountain biking community to pay for this sign which includes a map of the Wilder trails we all enjoy. In 2010, we donated $3,500 for the first sign which stands at the by the Highway 1 tunnel entrance of the Wilder Ranch State Park backcountry.

Thank you all very much for your donations, memberships and support for our fundraisers and events. We could never provide these donations for community improvement projects without you and we truly appreciate it.
