“Own the Flow” Winner of the Ibis Ripley or HD

We finally processed all the data and and we have a total of 8882 entries and raised a total of $44,410 for the new flow trail. There were 1,640 supporters with an average donation of $27. We added all the entries to a spreadsheet in no particular order and used random.org to pick a number between 1-8882. The number chosen was 7692.

The lucky winner of the Own the Flow Ibis bike is…. Joel Steinberg of Lodi, California. You bought a nice chunk of dirt and have been rewarded with a sweet new bike from Ibis, FOX, Easton and Shimano! Congratulations Joel!

Joel is such a deserving guy. He’s a medical doctor in Lodi, and comes down to Santa Cruz a few times a month to ride his bike. He currently rides a 26 inch hard tail and has chosen the Ripley – his first 29er – to enjoy the trails of Santa Cruz. He has been one of our most generous supporters of MBoSC and the Emma McCrary trail in particular. Then he started to give us something more valuable: his time. He regularly comes out to work on the Emma McCrary trail when in town and volunteered for the Santa Cruz Mountain Bike Festival.

MBoSC would like to thank FOX, Easton Cycling, Shimano and especially Scot Nicol and Ibis Cycles for their participation in this fund raiser. Thanks to Eve for legal and finance, Kyle M for graphics, Daryl, Seb, Drew, Dave, Patty, Tammy and many others worked the Sea Otter and Santa Theresa in support of this raffle.

A special thanks to Alan S for being an incredible volunteer for us in the month of April. He stepped up and completely owned sound for the Santa Cruz Mountain Bike Festival and didn’t finish with the festival until 2:30 am the next morning. This didn’t embitter him on MBoSC and he went to the Sea Otter and was selling Own the Flow tickets all 4 days in the Ibis Cycles booth. As if that wasn’t enough he set up the MBoSC booth and provided solar powered tunes for Trail Head Cyclery‘s demo at Santa Theresa. He’s been a generous volunteer and drove a lot of face to face ticket sales for Own the Flow. I’m so pleased that Alan managed to spend a few hours on the Ripley last Sunday and had a very enjoyable ride. Thank you Alan!

Thank you all for participating in this fund raiser. We are all winners because we will be starting the flow trail project within a month!
